Mo Backup Drive
Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Who and what this covers
Mo Backup Drive is a private backup utility operated by Mo Ally for personal use. This policy covers its Google Drive connection and backup handling. It is not a public backup service. These information pages do not display or provide access to backup data.
Data accessed and why
The app uses the backup content and repository metadata needed to upload, verify, restore, and manage the owner's backups. It requests Google's drive.file permission, limited to files it creates or files explicitly made available to it through Google's file-selection controls. It does not request unrestricted access to the owner's Drive.
OAuth authorization information lets the local backup tool access the approved Drive data without asking the owner to sign in for each scheduled run. The app does not ask for or store the owner's Google password.
Storage and protection
Restic encrypts the backups on the owner's computer before they are sent to Google Drive. The encrypted repository is stored in the owner's Google Drive. Google can process the stored encrypted objects and associated service metadata under its own terms and privacy policy.
OAuth tokens and local backup configuration are stored on the owner's computer. The backup encryption password is kept separately from the public website. Mo Backup Drive does not maintain an independent operator database or a public server containing the owner's backup content.
No advertising or data sales
Mo Backup Drive uses Google data only to provide the owner's backup and recovery functions. It does not sell that data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. The app does not share backup content with advertising or analytics services.
These static information pages contain no app-added analytics scripts or sign-in form. The website hosting provider may process ordinary connection information to serve and protect the site.
Retention and deletion
The owner controls how long backups are retained and can remove them using the backup tools or Google Drive. Repository cleanup, Drive Trash, and Google's service behavior can affect when storage is actually removed. This policy does not promise immediate erasure or a particular retention period.
The owner can revoke the app's Google authorization in Google Account connections and remove local authorization files. Revoking access does not automatically delete backups already stored in Drive. Removing the public website also does not delete backups.
